Sometimes a mother has to make twisted maggi, even if she thinks it’s unhealthy!

Cooking time: <5 minutes

Serves: 1 packet serves 1

What do you need?

Packets of maggi depending on number of people

1 tbs ghee/oil

Pinch of mustard seeds

½ tsp amchoor

Very little Asafetida (hing) based on your taste

1/4 tbs chili powder,

1/2 tbs coriander / dhania powder,

1/4 tbs garam masala,

1 tomato for each packet

1 small onion for each packet

Green chilies (depending on how hot you like it)

Salt and turmeric 

Few cloves of garlic

Few pieces of ginger

Small bunch of coriander leaves

And most importantly, lots of curry leaves

How to make it?

Point here is mainly the tadka, the Maggie is no great shakes so put it for boiling on the second flame. In a hot pan, put the Ghee and then add the onions, mustard seeds and curry leaves. After cooking for a while, add all spices and the chopped tomatoes. Once it becomes a course paste, add it to the ready magi. Alternately you can also add the magi at this stage and boil it with the tadka. Mix well, add freshly cut coriander leaves and finally squeeze some lemon juice (optional – I normally don’t do this). The spices may be strong for some people, so you can reduce the quantity.

Your spicy and tadkedar masala maggi is ready! Easy and loved by children and adults alike!
